Janette is a photographer
who lives and works in Grand Bend.
Although she has owned a camera since she was a teen, it was in 2011,
when she received a DSLR camera as a gift, that she started to really get into
photography. She learned as much
as she could from books, websites and taking classes and workshops. After
learning the basic techniques of photography, she began to see photography as a
more expressive art form. She started to experiment with a more artistic and painterly
approach to her work. She enjoys
blurring lines between photography and painting—and sometimes uses digital
brushes to create lens-based art. Janette experiments with printing on different types of paper and canvas
to achieve different looks in the finished piece.
Janette’s tagline is “The
Way I See It”. Whether her subject is a delicate flower, a peaceful beach scene, or a raging storm, she strives to capture and share the elements that compelled
her to click the shutter. One of Janette’s favourite subjects is Lake Huron in
its many moods. Whether it’s a calm and tranquil sunset or a turbulent storm,
she finds herself drawn to the lake with her camera in hand. When asked to
submit artwork for the “All Things Bright and Beautiful” theme, she knew right
away that it would feature the setting sun over Lake Huron. There is nothing in
this world that is brighter than the sun, and few things that can rival Lake
Huron for its majestic beauty. Janette hopes that the brightness and beauty of
this scene will bring a sense of joy and peace to all its viewers.
