Jim Tomlinson

Proudly born and raised in Exeter ON, Jim attended Exeter P.S. and South Huron D.H.S.  In 1960, he joined the London Police Force, spending most of his career as a Detective Sergeant in Forensic Identification. He retired in 1992, after 32.5 years of service.

Due to the meticulous nature of his job, and its focus on detail, he gravitated towards hobbies which required a keen eye, such as photography, woodworking and stained glass.  Jim has produced many original products over the last forty years, including fourteen different Louis C. Tiffany lamp reproductions.

The sun-catcher Jim made for the Jessica’s House fundraiser took approximately thirty-five hours to produce.  He was very pleased to be able to include 100+ year-old glass that originated right in Exeter.  The red daisies on the left side of the glass have streaked, yellow centers; these glass pieces are from a window of a house that stands at the south end of Exeter.
